Vantage integrates with your SpaceXAI (formerly xAI) account using a Management key to ingest cost and usage data through the SpaceXAI Management API billing usage endpoint. Vantage retrieves cost and usage data broken down by model and SKU (for example, grok-4.3 and grok-4.3 Priority), billable unit type, and API key. Usage data is available for SpaceXAI, measured in the provider’s billable unit types, such as prompt, completion, cached, and reasoning text tokens.

SpaceXAI Permissions

Vantage connects to SpaceXAI using a Management key and validates access by reading team billing and usage data. Vantage cannot run inference, deploy models, or perform any actions that incur costs in your SpaceXAI account. You must use a Management key, not an inference API key. Inference API keys from the API Keys page cannot access the billing endpoints. It’s best practice to create a dedicated Management key for Vantage and rotate it according to your organization’s security policy.

Connect Your SpaceXAI Account

Prerequisites

  • You must have a Vantage Organization Owner or Integration Owner role to add or remove this integration. See the Role-Based Access Control documentation for details.
  • You need access to the SpaceXAI Console with permission to create a Management key that can read team billing and usage data.
  • Create a free Vantage account, then follow the steps below to integrate SpaceXAI costs.

Create the Connection

1
Sign in to the SpaceXAI Console.
2
From the bottom left, select the Settings icon, then click Management Keys.
3
Click Create management key.
Do not use an inference API key from the API Keys page. Only a Management key can read the billing endpoints Vantage uses.
4
Name the key. For Access, set Billing to Read only.
If your organization enforces IP restrictions, use the Allowed IP addresses section on this screen to add each of the following Vantage IPs so Vantage can reach the SpaceXAI Management API. Add each IP address individually:
5
Click Save and copy the newly created management key.
6
From the top navigation in Vantage, click Settings.
7
On the left navigation, select Integrations > SpaceXAI.
8
The SpaceXAI integrations page is displayed. Ensure you are on the Connect tab.
9
Click Add Account and complete the integration form:
  • Management Key: Paste the SpaceXAI Management key.
  • Description: Enter a label to identify this SpaceXAI account or workspace in Vantage. This value is used as the Organization dimension in Cost Report filters.
10
Click Connect Account.
After clicking Connect Account, you will see the status of your integration change to Importing within the Vantage console. This status indicates that Vantage is actively importing your SpaceXAI cost data. Vantage backfills up to six months of historical cost data upon initial connection. See the Integration Status documentation for details on integration statuses. You can connect multiple SpaceXAI accounts, each with its own Management key, as separate integrations in Vantage.
As soon as costs are processed, they will be available on your All Resources Cost Report. If you decide to remove your SpaceXAI integration from Vantage, all costs associated with that Management key will be removed from the Vantage console.

Next Steps - Manage Workspace Access

Once the import is complete and the integration status changes to Stable, you can select which workspaces this integration is associated with. See the Workspaces documentation for information.

Data Refresh

See the provider data refresh documentation for information on when data for each provider refreshes in Vantage. SpaceXAI data refreshes once daily.

SpaceXAI Reporting Dimensions

On SpaceXAI Cost Reports, you can filter and group across several dimensions:
  • Organization (the description you enter when connecting the integration)
  • Service (the model or SKU, such as grok-4.3, grok-4.3 Priority, Speech-to-Text, or File Storage)
  • Category (the billable unit type, such as Prompt text tokens, Completion text tokens, Cached prompt text tokens, or Reasoning text tokens)
  • Resource (the SpaceXAI API key ID associated with the usage; an all-zero ID indicates unattributed usage, such as File Storage)
  • Charge Type (Usage)
SpaceXAI costs do not include provider tags. You can still filter and group by any Virtual Tags you create.
