The official Vantage ChatGPT app gives you direct access to Vantage, via the Vantage MCP Server, from ChatGPT. Instead of manually configuring an MCP server URL in another client, you can connect your Vantage account, add the app to a conversation, and begin asking questions or taking supported actions directly in ChatGPT. The app uses your existing Vantage account for authentication and respects the same account and workspace access already available to that user.

Install the Vantage ChatGPT App

Open the app listing

Navigate to the Vantage ChatGPT app listing in ChatGPT and click Connect.

Authorize with Vantage

Complete the Vantage authorization flow when prompted. Sign in with your Vantage account and approve access.

Add Vantage to a conversation

In ChatGPT, click the + button in the chat box, select More, and choose Vantage to add it to your conversation.

Start prompting

Ask a question like, “Which workspaces do I have access to in Vantage?” or “What were our AWS costs last month?” ChatGPT will use the Vantage MCP tools behind the scenes to return account-scoped answers and perform supported actions.

What You Can Do

Version 2.0.0 of the Vantage ChatGPT app supports a broad set of Vantage workflows for both read and write use cases, mirroring the capabilities of the Vantage MCP.
  • Read workflows include querying cloud costs and Cost Reports (including costs, spending forecasts, and unit costs), Canvases, Dashboards, Folders, budgets, Cost Alerts and alert events, anomalies, cost recommendations and their affected resources, Recommendation Views, Financial Commitment Reports, Resource Reports, provider resources, Business Metrics and their historical and forecasted values, billing rules (Vantage for MSPs only), tags, report notifications, cost provider integrations and accounts, workspaces, teams, users, and Audit Logs.
  • Write workflows include creating, updating, and deleting budgets, Cost Alerts, Cost Reports, Dashboards, Folders, billing rules (Vantage for MSPs only), Financial Commitment Reports, Recommendation Views, Report Notifications, Resource Reports, and Canvases; creating and updating Workspaces; creating Virtual Tag Configs; and updating anomaly status.
  • Account-scoped context includes workspace access, default workspace information, and other account-scoped metadata needed to answer questions accurately and take supported actions in the right context.

Privacy and Permissions

The Vantage ChatGPT app uses your existing Vantage account for authentication. It respects the same Vantage account and workspace permissions that apply in the Vantage console and APIs. If a user does not have access to a given workspace, report, alert, or other resource in Vantage, the app should not be able to access it on that user’s behalf. Prompts are handled in the AI client environment, while Vantage receives the underlying API calls needed to fulfill the request. For more information, see the Privacy Policy and Service Agreement.
