Vantage integrates with a Deepgram project using a project API key and imports the USD costs Deepgram reports in its billing breakdown API. Costs are daily and broken down by the line item Deepgram bills (for example, Nova-3 (Stream)), the API key that incurred the charge, and the tags on that usage. Speech-to-text, text-to-speech, voice agent, and add-on charges are included when Deepgram bills them as line items.
Vantage imports rated USD amounts only. Deepgram does not provide usage quantities for this integration, so usage-based reporting is not available. Prepaid credit balances are not subtracted from these costs, and tax is not included. Days with no charges are not imported.

Deepgram Permissions

Vantage connects with a Deepgram project API key that has the Admin or Owner role. Both roles include the billing:read permission. Member keys cannot read billing and are rejected. See Deepgram’s roles and permissions documentation for details. Deepgram does not offer a billing-only API key role. Admin and Owner keys can also manage the project. Vantage only reads project and billing data. It does not send speech or agent requests, change the project, or store audio, transcripts, or prompts. Each API key belongs to one Deepgram project. Create a dedicated key for Vantage. Deepgram shows a new key only once.

Connect Your Deepgram Account

Prerequisites

  • You must have a Vantage Organization Owner or Integration Owner role to add or remove this integration. See the Role-Based Access Control documentation for details.
  • You need access to the Deepgram project you want to connect, with permission to create an Admin or Owner API key.
  • Create a free Vantage account, then follow the steps below to integrate Deepgram costs.
If your organization restricts access to the provider by IP address, add the following Vantage IP addresses to your provider’s allowlist:
  • 54.87.66.45
  • 3.95.43.133
  • 54.162.3.72
  • 44.199.143.63
  • 3.218.103.23

Create the Connection

1
Sign in to the Deepgram Console and from the top menu, open the project you want to connect.
2
On the left navigation, select API keys.
3
Click Create a new API key.
4
Enter a name, set an expiration date, and expand the Advanced section. Set the Role to Admin or Owner. Click Create key.
5
Copy the API key. Deepgram shows new keys only once.
6
From the top navigation in Vantage, click Settings.
7
On the left navigation, select Integrations and then Deepgram.
8
On the Deepgram integration page, click Add API Key.
9
Complete the integration form:
  • API Key: Paste the Deepgram project API key.
  • Description: Enter a name that identifies this Deepgram project. This value is the Billing Account (Organization) in Cost Reports.
10
Click Connect Account.
Vantage checks that the key can read billing for exactly one project before it imports costs. A Member key, or a key that is not tied to a single project, will not connect. After clicking Connect Account, the integration status changes to Importing. Vantage then imports historical Deepgram costs within your account’s data retention period (six months by default), subject to the history Deepgram still has for that project. See the Integration Status documentation for details on these statuses. You can connect more than one Deepgram project. Each project needs its own API key and Description. A project can only be connected once. To rotate a key, remove the existing connection and connect again with the new key. Removing the connection in Vantage does not delete the API key in Deepgram.
As soon as costs are processed, they are available on your All Resources Cost Report. If you remove the Deepgram integration, the costs for that project are removed from the Vantage console.

Next Steps - Manage Workspace Access

Once the import is complete and the integration status changes to Stable, you can select which workspaces this integration is associated with. See the Workspaces documentation for information.

Data Refresh

See the provider data refresh documentation for information on when data for each provider refreshes in Vantage. Deepgram data refreshes once daily. During the first five days of each month, Vantage also refreshes the previous month so late-arriving charges are captured.

Deepgram Reporting Dimensions

On Deepgram Cost Reports, you can filter and group across several dimensions:
  • Billing Account/Organization (the Description you enter when connecting the project)
  • Service (the line-item label Deepgram reports, such as Nova-3 (Stream), Nova-3 (Pre-recorded), Flux (Stream), Keyterm Prompting, or Multichannel)
  • Category (the request type parsed from the line item: streaming or sync when the line item includes a model, otherwise add_on for charges such as keyterm prompting and multichannel)
  • Subcategory (the deployment when Deepgram includes it, such as hosted)
  • Resource (the Deepgram API key ID)
  • Charge Type (Usage)
  • Tags, including Deepgram request and API key tags and Managed AI Tags
Deepgram tags are stored as-is. A tag such as prod or org-phone is both the tag key and the tag value. UUID-shaped tag strings are not imported. Vantage also writes deepgram:deployment when a deployment is present. Vantage applies Managed AI Tags so you can compare Deepgram with other AI providers. For line items that include a model, Vantage writes vntg:ai:model (for example, nova-3, nova, flux, or base), vntg:ai:model_provider (Deepgram), and vntg:ai:api_key_id. Add-on line items do not have a model, so they receive vntg:ai:api_key_id only.
