# Account Settings

> Manage your Vantage account settings; configure personal profiles, API tokens, organizational settings, currency preferences, and user access controls.

From the Vantage account [Settings page](https://console.vantage.sh/account/profile), you can edit your personal profile, create API access tokens, and configure organizational settings.

## General Settings

<Info>
  Only Organization Owners can configure organization settings. See the [Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)](/rbac) documentation for details.

From the top navigation bar of the Vantage console, click **Settings**. On the side navigation bar, review the options under **General Settings**.

### Create an API Token

Create API tokens to authenticate requests to the Vantage API. See the [API Reference](/api/authentication) documentation for more information.

### View Audit Logs

View a complete audit trail of actions taken in your Vantage account, including changes to resources, user actions, and FinOps Agent activities. See the [Audit Logs](/audit_logs) documentation for more information.

### Configure Authentication

Vantage supports many Single Sign-On (SSO) options. See the [SSO](/sso) documentation for more information.

### View Billing & Plans

From the **Billing & Plans** section, you can view your usage, current plan, and previous payments/invoices.

If you need to update any billing details on your invoices, such as email address or company name, contact Vantage Support at [support@vantage.sh](mailto:support@vantage.sh).

### Configure Integrations

From the **Integrations** section under General Settings, you can view and manage all your provider integrations. This page displays all connected providers, their connection status, and allows you to configure workspace access for each integration.

    All your provider integrations are displayed. You can view the status of each integration and manage workspace access by clicking the settings icon next to an integration.

#### Integration Status

Each integration displays a status indicator that shows the current state of the connection:

| Status        | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Stable**    | The integration is connected and functioning normally. Cost data is being imported successfully.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      |
| **Importing** | The integration is actively importing data for the first time and hasn't been assigned to any workspaces yet. This status appears during the initial data import process. Once the integration is assigned to a workspace or the initial import completes, the status will change to **Stable**.                                                                                                                      |
| **Warning**   | Some accounts within the integration have failed imports, but other accounts are still functioning normally. This status appears when you have multiple accounts connected (e.g., multiple AWS accounts or Azure subscriptions) and some are experiencing import failures while others continue to import successfully. Review the integration settings for the affected accounts to identify and resolve any issues. |
| **Error**     | The integration has encountered an error and is not functioning properly. Check the integration settings, verify credentials, or contact [support@vantage.sh](mailto:support@vantage.sh) for assistance.                                                                                                                                                                                                              |

  The **Importing** status is only shown for integrations that are actively importing data for the first time and haven't been assigned to any workspaces. This provides visibility into the integration setup process.

#### Integration Troubleshooting

If your integration is not importing data as expected, use the guidance below to diagnose common issues.

##### Duplicate Integrations Causing Double-Counted Costs

If costs for a provider appear to be exactly double the expected amount, you may have two integrations importing the same data. This can happen when a provider is connected multiple times with different credentials that access the same underlying billing data.

To check for duplicates:

    Navigate to **Settings > Integrations**. Select a provider. The **Manage** tab is displayed. Look for multiple entries for the same provider.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compare account identifiers">
    Select an integration to view its **Manage Connection** page. Some integrations display an associated account ID that you can compare. If two integrations are showing the same costs, one is likely a duplicate.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remove the duplicate">
    Before you delete an integration, you can toggle integrations on and off per workspace without fully removing it. See the [workspaces](/workspaces#manage-workspace-provider-integrations) documentation.
  </Step>
</Steps>

##### Connection Errors After Credential Changes

If you rotated API keys, client secrets, or service account credentials in your provider without updating Vantage, the integration will enter an **Error** state. To resolve this, generate new credentials in your provider's console and add them to Vantage. For provider-specific credential rotation steps, see the documentation for your provider (e.g., [Azure client secret](/connecting_azure#update-your-client-secret), [Snowflake RSA keys](/connecting_snowflake#rotate-snowflake-rsa-keys)).

##### Data Delays After Initial Connection

After connecting a new integration, cost data typically appears within 24–48 hours. Some providers may take longer for the initial backfill of historical data. During this time, the integration status shows **Importing**. If data has not appeared after 48 hours and the status still shows **Importing** or has moved to **Error**, contact [support@vantage.sh](mailto:support@vantage.sh).

##### Integration Is Stable but Costs Are Missing in Reports

If an integration shows **Stable** but you still cannot find its costs in reports, the most common cause is workspace visibility rather than a broken connection.

Use the following checks:

    Go to **Settings > Integrations**, open the provider connection, and verify that the relevant workspace is selected under **Workspace Access**. See [Workspaces](/workspaces#manage-workspace-provider-integrations).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm you are viewing the correct workspace">
    Switch to the workspace where the integration is assigned. Reports in other workspaces will not include that provider's data.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm your team can view that workspace">
    If your organization uses [RBAC](/rbac), make sure one of your teams has access to that workspace. A healthy integration can still be invisible if your team does not have workspace access.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Configure FinOps Agent

Manage FinOps Agent settings, including automation preferences, recommendation types, and Slack channel configuration. See the [Vantage FinOps Agent](/vantage_finops_agent) documentation for more information.

### Invite Users to Your Account

From the **People** section, you can invite new users, view a user's role and team associations, and remove users. To invite a new user:

    Click **Invite People**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter User Details">
    Enter the user's email and select a role and associated teams.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send Invitation">
    Click **Send Invitation**. The new user's name will appear in the **People** list with *Invite Pending* as well as a link to *Resend* the invite.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Click the ellipses (**...**) next to a user's name to edit or remove a user.

  The **People** page displays a **Last Login** timestamp for each user, showing when they last accessed the Vantage console. This information is also available via the [Vantage API](/api/vantage_api_reference) as the `last_seen_at` field in the user object.

### Tags

Manage provider tags and create Virtual Tags to organize and allocate costs across your cloud infrastructure. See the [Tagging](/tagging) documentation for more information.

### Manage Workspaces

Provider integrations are organized into workspaces. From the **Workspaces** section, you can manage each of your workspaces as well as create a new one. See the [Workspaces](/workspaces) documentation for more information.

### Currency Conversion

<Info>
  At this time, presentational currency conversion is available on Vantage reports, such as Cost Reports, Kubernetes Efficiency Reports, Financial Commitment Reports, Budgets and Budget Alerts, Provider Resource Reports, and Cost Alert email notifications. It is also available on Cost Recommendations.
</Info>

Vantage offers two options for displaying currency within the console: a *Display Preference* and *Currency Conversion*.

* **Display Preference**: If your imported costs are already billed in a currency other than USD, you can enable a *Display Preference*. This lets you view your costs with the appropriate currency symbol—without using Vantage's currency conversion rates. This option is ideal for users who prefer their costs to reflect the currency in which they are billed.
* **Currency Conversion**: With *Currency Conversion*, you can choose to view costs in a different currency by converting amounts using exchange rates. This is configured per workspace and offers two options:

  * **End of Billing Period Rate**: Uses the closing exchange rate for the last day of the previous month.
  * **Daily Rate**: Applies the current exchange rate for each day.

  Vantage calculates the exchange rate based on a [public API](https://exchangeratesapi.io/).

#### Enable Display Preference

To enable a display preference:

    From the top navigation, click **Settings**.

    On the side navigation, click **Workspaces**. All your existing workspaces are displayed. Select the workspace where you want to configure your display preference.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    At the top of the **Workspaces** page, under **Currency Settings > Display Preference**, select your preferred currency from the list. Reports will now display your selected currency symbol next to costs.
  </Step>
</Steps>

#### Enable Currency Conversion

To enable currency conversion:

    From the top navigation, click **Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    On the side navigation, click **Workspaces**. All your existing workspaces are displayed. Select the workspace where you want to enable currency conversion.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    At the top of the **Workspaces** page, under **Currency Settings > Currency Conversion**, select **Enable**, then select your preferred currency from the list.

      Anything currently set in the **Display Preference** section is overridden by your currency conversion selection.
    </Info>
  </Step>

  <Step>
    For **Exchange Rate Dates**, select one of the following conversion date options. For the most accurate results, use the currency method in which you are billed:

    * **Daily Rate:** Vantage maintains a daily snapshot of exchange rates to provide estimated currency conversions. With the **Daily Rate** option, the costs' corresponding daily exchange rate will be used for the conversion.
    * **End of Billing Period Rate:** Uses the closing exchange rate for the last day of the previous month.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Your settings are automatically saved and available on your reports.

  If you disable currency conversion, your presentational currency will default back to USD.
</Info>

## Personal Settings

From the top navigation bar of the Vantage console, click **Settings**. On the side navigation bar, review the options under **Personal Settings**.

### Update Your Profile

In the **Profile** section, you can change your display name as well as your email address. Note that changing your email will log you out and require you to re-confirm. You can also select a default dashboard that's displayed when you navigate to `console.vantage.sh`. See the [Default Dashboards](/dashboards#set-a-default-dashboard) documentation for details.

### Reset Your Password

  The following steps are for users who directly sign in to Vantage.

If you forget your password or would like to change your password, follow the below steps.

    From the top-right corner of the console, click the profile icon, then click **Logout**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    You will return to the **Login** screen. Type your email in the **Email Address** field. Then, click **Continue**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    On the **Sign In** page, click **Forgot your password?** and enter your email again.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    You will receive an email with a link to reset your password. Click **confirm the password change**, then enter a new password.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    Click the right-facing arrow, then go to [console.vantage.sh](https://console.vantage.sh) to sign in with your new password.
  </Step>

## Additional Account Information

### Cost Display and Rounding

Vantage calculates accrued costs from full-precision data and rounds up to two decimal places for display. Individual line items in reports are also rounded independently. Because of this rounding behavior, the displayed total may differ by a few cents from the sum of the displayed line items.

For example, if you sum the individual line items shown in a Cost Report, you may notice a small discrepancy (typically a few cents) compared to the total displayed at the top of the report. This is expected behavior and occurs because each cost value is rounded independently before being displayed.

### Data Retention

Vantage retains cost data for a default period of **6 months**. This retention period determines how far back you can view, filter, and analyze cost data across Cost Reports, Financial Commitment Reports, and other features. Your [forecast](/forecasting) duration also matches your retention period—for example, with 6 months of retention, you can forecast up to 6 months into the future.

The following retention defaults apply:

| Data Type                 | Default Retention |
| ------------------------- | ----------------- |
| Cost data (all providers) | 6 months          |
| Network Flow Logs         | 7 days            |

### Email Notifications

Vantage sends the following emails to account contacts and Organization Owners.

* **Account contact**: The primary email address associated with your Vantage account. This is the email used during account creation and serves as the main contact for billing and account lifecycle communications.
* **Organization Owner**: Any user assigned the [Organization Owner](/rbac) role. There can be multiple Organization Owners on a single account.

#### Emails Sent to Account Contact

| **Subscription Reactivation Confirmation** | Sent when a previously cancelled subscription is reactivated                                                                                  |
| **Subscription Payment Failure**           | Sent when a subscription payment fails                                                                                                        |
| **Welcome to your Vantage Free Trial**     | Sent when a free trial begins                                                                                                                 |

#### Emails Sent to Organization Owners
